Culture Club - Moab Music Festival

Join your fellow Culture Club members for a weekend of music in Moab with the Moab Music Festival. The official concert for this event will be Sunrise on Turtle Island: Contemporary Native American Voices. Prior to the concert, Culture Club members are invited to attend a special pre-concert talk with conductor and musicians. For the concert, attendees will be seated on the lawn at scenic Red Cliff Lodge, overlooking the Colorado River and set against towering red rock walls, which blaze in the distance at sunset. Conductor and pianist Timothy Long (Muscogee, Thlopthlocco, Choctaw) curates and leads performances of three world premieres exploring the new generation of Native American composers. Dawn Avery (Mohawk), Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate (Chickasaw), Laura Ortman (White Mountain Apache), and Martha Redbone (Choctaw) bring their unique musical voices and their own stories of growing up in America with world premieres to this celebration of new and existing works. Turtle Island refers to the origin story of North America as a great turtle, on whose back we have built our civilizations. This concert honors our current Native American artists and acknowledges their ancestors whose land we now call America.

Culture Club members will receive a 50% discount on tickets for Sunrise on Turtle Island: Contemporary Native American Voices and Copland & the American West. Please RSVP here so we know you are coming and then purchase your tickets on the MMF websiteYou must be a current Culture Club Member to attend this event.  If you are not yet a Culture Club Member learn more and join here
