  • In-depth Advocacy Training

    Whether you are a first-time attendee to one of the cultural advocacy days on the hill this year or want to learn more, join us for this in-depth advocacy training by Crystal Young-Otterstrom, Executive Director of the Utah Cultural Alliance.

    REGISTER

    During this in-depth workshop you will learn about how to advocate for your organization, details of the bills and appropriations that impact the cultural sector, and the message and talking points UCA will be advocating for this year.

    This event is free for anyone who is registered for Arts Day on the Hill, Library Day on the Hill, Film Day on the Hill or Museum Advocacy Day.

    You can attend in person at the West Jordan Library OR participate online via a video conference link. Details for connecting via video conference will be sent upon RSVP.

     

  • 2020 Arts & Library Days on the Hill

    Join us to advocate for both Arts and Libraries - this year we are sharing the date for our days on the hill! Plan on being present at the Capitol from 8 am - 5 pm. Meetings with legislators will be scheduled throughout the day for both groups.  Register for Arts & Library Days on the Hill

    8 am - 5 pm | Meetings with legislators
    7 am - 10 am: Library Day activities [Rotunda]
    1 pm - 2 pm: Woman's Suffrage Celebration [Gold Room]
    3 pm - 5 pm: Arts Day activities [Rotunda]

    This annual gathering is a celebration of Utah's vibrant humanities, arts, museums, and cultural sector. We get to show off a little for our elected officials! The program will include performances from professional artists AND elected officials.

    We will present a few awards to elected officials who have significantly supported the arts & humanities through their public service in the last year. This event is on the official social calendar of the legislature. Last year, over 70 legislators attended!

    On Museum Advocacy Day, museum staff and volunteers from around the state come to Capitol Hill to help legislators understand the crucial role museums play in the community while giving Capitol regulars and visitors a peek at their collections, programs, and missions.   • 2020 Legislative Wrap-up

    MEMBER EVENT (sign-in to rsvp): Join us for a review of what happened during the 2020 legislative session and how it will affect Utah's cultural sector. 

    Speakers will include staff from the Utah Department of Heritage and Arts and the Utah Cultural Alliance.

    While we love to see our members in person, we want you to participate regardless of where you are in the state. A link to join the wrap-up via Zoom meeting will be provided for those not attending in person.
