SoJo Plein Air Competition is a fun and fast-paced, plein air (open air) painting contest. The competition is open to youth (17 years and under) and professional or amateur artist (18 years and older). The field is limited to 50 artists on a first-come basis. Paintings must be completed within a strict two-hour period (10:00 am – 12:00 pm). Participating artists may use any two-dimensional medium (oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, etc). No photography or digital media is allowed. Artists will have the opportunity to display their final artwork in South Jordan City Hall and the Gale Center Museum. Competition Schedule: 9:00 – 9:30 AM: ARTIST CHECK-IN (MANDATORY) 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Artists find painting location. 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: ARTISTS PAINT 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Utah Watercolor Society Paint Out – Spectators can watch professionals from the UWS paint en plein air. 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Submit art framed & ready to be judged 12:30 – 1:00 PM: Art will be judged 1:00 PM: Awards given Venue TBD
