TUESDAY HARVEST FARMERS MARKET OPENS DOWNTOWN AUGUST 9

Laid-back produce market bring fresh food and activities to Gallivan Center, a new location for 2016

Salt Lake City (August 9, 2016) – The seventh season for the Tuesday evening Downtown Harvest Market opens Aug. 9 and continues through Oct. 18, 4 p.m. to dusk. This laid-back produce market featuring about twenty vendors, will sell local food during the peak of the harvest. Shoppers will also find a range of other activities at Gallivan Center, a new venue for the Tuesday Harvest Market this season.

The smaller size of the mid-week market creates an intimate experience that is easy to access for convenient shopping, as well as supporting community and locally grown food. Commuters, downtown residents and regular market shoppers will find the Tuesday evening markets a welcome addition to the popular Saturday markets to stock up on local produce after work.

"The Tuesday Market offers farmers an additional opportunity to connect with local shoppers during a time of the year when farms are producing at their height," said Alison Einerson, market manager. "The Harvest Market is the perfect way for both residents and commuters to pick up farm-fresh produce and locally produced food before heading home."

In addition to more than twenty farmers, producers, and packaged food vendors, market-goers will find several of Salt Lake's best food trucks, pickle ball and foosball, cold beer, and "Big Band Dance Night" on Gallivan's outdoor stage. Complimentary parking is available at the Wells Fargo parking lot, plus a GREENbike station is located at the Main Street entrance, adjacent to the TRAX stop.
