Welcome to the Brazilian Arts Center's Samba & Pagode de Domingo! We are bringing joy, culture and great music to Salt Lake City through Samba & Pagode! Sambistas & Pagodeir@s, bring your instruments and come play with us! FREE event, open to all ages! Brazilian food available for purchase! 😋 What is Pagode? Pagode is a type of Brazilian music, especially popular in Bahia and Rio. It took off in the 1980s when it was popularized by some great bands, especially Grupo Fundo de Quintal (roughly translating as “Backyard Group”). Considered a sub-genre of samba, Pagode is a celebration with lots of food, music and dance. Join us! ***All proceedings go to the Brazilian Arts Center. BAC is a local 501c3 nonprofit that organizes cultural programs & events to bring more joy & diversity to Utah.
