Jam sessions have always provided jazz musicians a way to “cut their teeth” and push each other to play their best. This new monthly music series gives UVU music students and local jazz musicians the chance to create spontaneous performances as only jazz musicians can. Each event is hosted by a house band featuring one of Utah’s top professional jazz musicians backed up by UVU music students. Play a little jazz yourself? Audience members are welcome to “sit-in” with the band as long as they have their “axe” (instrument) and a jazz tune ready to play.
