Explore the art of Hand Painted Silk while making a colorful scarfs.
In this 2-day workshop, students will learn how to apply fiber reactive dyes to silk with a paintbrush. The process is similar to watercolor. Creative inspiration and expression will be strongly encouraged while using basic design principles. On the second day, students will learn techniques to rework the color on their scarf(s) and have the opportunity to paint more scarfs if time allows. Students are strongly encouraged to wear clothes and shoes to the class that they don't mind getting permanent dyes on. Please, bring rubber gloves to protect your skin and plastic garbage bags to carry your project(s) home safely in your car. ?Ages: 18+ Student limit: 8 people Instructor: Sandra Ence Paul Campus location: Art room (click for campus map) Parking: Available off of 540 E.
