Singing, dancing, comedy, romance, and Gershwin favorites will fill the Corner Canyon High Auditorium when “Crazy For You” is introduced to a new generation. The Tony Award-winning musical runs Nov. 10, 11, 12, and 14, at 7 p.m., and Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. Tickets are available starting Oct. 17 online at cornercanyontheatre.com. Corner Canyon is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, and performing arts alumni from the past decade are invited to attend the show. This is also the 30th anniversary of “Crazy For You.” The original production opened on Broadway in 1992 and ran for 1,622 shows. “We are excited to introduce a new generation to this show,” says Director Phaidra Atkinson. “The show features stunning dance routines and elaborate 1930s costumes. It will be a great night of entertainment.” “Crazy For You,” is set to music by legendary composers George and Ira Gershwin. The score features well-known classics such as including “I Got Rhythm,” “Embraceable You,” and “Someone To Watch Over Me.” The show brings audiences into a world of both cowboys and showgirls. Bobby Child, a wanna-be song and dance man and reluctant New York banker, ends up in Deadrock, Nevada, with a troupe of chorus-girl friends from the Zangler Follies. He meets Polly, a spunky beauty and her laconic cowboy pals. Mayhem ensues – complete with mistaken identities, and love-at-first-sight. The 200-member cast and crew, who have been rehearsing since August, features seniors Ian Colton, Bobby Child; Maggie McDowell, Polly; Kathryn Solum, Irene; Jonathan Lutz, Lank; and Aiden Hughes, Bela Zangler
