NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS CLOSES THE YEAR AT SUSTAINED FUNDING
Congress completed its work for the year by punting final funding decisions until the new year. Under the agreement, the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) will continue to receive "level" funding at $148 million.
OVERTIME RULES IMPACTING NONPROFIT ARTS ORGANIZATIONS NOW DELAYED
Americans for the Arts has been tracking proposed changes to federal overtime rules and their impact to nonprofit arts organizations and employees.
NEW FEDERAL RESOURCES FOR ARTS EDUCATION
Since the passage of the new K-12 education law, the Every Student Succeeds Act, Americans for the Arts has tracked its implementation. On November 28, the U.S. Department of Education released final regulations pertaining to state accountability plans.

President and CEO Robert L. Lynch penned a personal Huffington Post column about how the arts give hope and help him heal. The arts also fight injustice. We all must fight for the freedom and resources for artists and arts organizations to unify us, bridge community differences, and create places of understanding and healing.
