This class is designed to introduce students to value and color theory while creating a beautiful cut-paper "painting" using a collage technique.
This class is designed to introduce students to value and color theory while creating a beautiful cut-paper "painting" using a collage technique. Students will learn to simplify their subject by eliminating selective details as well as identifying the subtle effects of value and color to create a realistic but interestingly abstract piece. We will research the work of contemporary collage artists like Derek Gores for inspiration. Please bring to class 2-3 reference images for possible subjects for collage "painting." All other collage materials will be provided.
