Join us at the Kimball Art Center every
Thursday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
This is a free program that brings art to the community and inspires young children to express their creativity. Volunteers will read a book each week and lead tots in an art project themed around the story. This program is geared toward ages 3 - 5 years old but kids that are outside of that age group are welcome to participate. Parents are required to stay with their tots during the reading and art project.

Recycled Glass Wind Chimes
Saturday, February 4
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.with Jodi McRaney-Rusho*This class is recommended for children 6+.
Create a beautiful found object and recycled glass wind chime. Several wind chime styles will be available for students to choose from and a wide selection of recycled glass beads, rings, donuts and other pieces. Students are encouraged to bring found objects to incorporate into their wind chime. This class is recommended for kids 6+, and both adults and kids will make their very own wind chime for display!

Wake & Draw the Figure II
Saturday, February 4
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Figure model provided.
*This class is for adults only 18+.
Grab an easel or a drawing horse, bring a pad of paper, your preferred drawing medium, and your creativity. A nude and/or draped model will be present to pose. Students will work with the model to communicate positions, quick draw exercises, or extended time draws, etc., which will allow students to continue their study of the figure. There is no instructor during this open studio session, so it is suggested that students who register have figure drawing experience.

Little Picassos
Mondays, February 6, 13, 27; March 6
3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. with Anna Leigh Moore
Expose your toddler to a world filled of fun art projects that will improve their artistic motor skills while having a blast! Each session, students will have an opportunity to experience a different type of art media including drawing, painting, 3D sculpture, and collage. Parents do not need to accompany children in this class, but students need to be 4 to 5 years of age. Come join the fun!

Intro to Drawing: The Body and Spirit of the Horse
Tuesdays, February 7, 14, 28; March 7
4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with Amanda Herbert
Learn how to capture the movement and expression of this magnificent creature with nothing more than a pencil, an eraser and a good piece of paper. Students will work from Breyer horse models to develop their eye-to-hand coordination so that they will successfully render the correct anatomy of the horse while also portraying the intense beauty of the animal. All levels of experience welcome.

Intricate Vessel Series
Tuesdays, February 7, 14, 28; March 7
6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. with Nancy Whipple
Take your ceramic skills to the next level in this intricate vessel class. Nancy will introduce the technique of building tulipieres, or multiple flower holders. Students will follow along learning from demonstrations, discussions, and hands on experimentation. Acquiring skill in hand building and glazing are the primary goals. Once you’ve mastered this intricate technique, your creative options will be endless! Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready for pick up 10-12 days after class has ended.

Face & Caricature Drawing
Tuesdays, February 7, 14, 28; March 7
4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. with Kylie Millward
Students will have fun laughing and drawing with Kylie in this class! Kids learn proper proportions of the face, as well as exaggerating techniques to stretch and squash facial features while maintaining a likeness. Kids will mostly use drawing materials throughout the class, but will also experiment with paper and wire to help students learn about facial contours and proportions.
