10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
With David Habben
$180 + $20 materials fee.
For adults & teens ages 16+.

Do you have a story that you just can't wait to illustrate, but are having trouble getting started? Or maybe you just want to learn about illustration in general and refine your skills.  Then, you're in the right place! The class will focus on creating characters based around an existing story, your own or one familiar to us all, and then experimenting with ways of visualizing them. We'll then take the characters into the book and work on pacing and composition, while we explore style and expression. We'll be working with a variety of tools, so bring your open minds and creative ideas for a wonderful experience in illustration. Teens 16+ are also welcome to enroll.
David "HABBENINK" Habben is an artist and illustrator based in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. His work can be found in children's books, interactive campaigns, apparel, and galleries throughout the world. David received his BFA from Brigham Young University in 2006 and was a Children's Book Design Fellow at Chronicle Books in 2008. After several years of freelance illustration and design, he has recently entered the MFA Studio Art program at the University of Utah.  View his work at www.habbenink.com.
