Dear Valued Members & Supporters,

Uptown Fare Café has opened up their outdoor seating and that can only mean one thing, summer is almost here! The summer months are always the Kimball Art Center’s busiest time of year and this year is no exception.

Looking forward, we are excited for the opening of our next Main Gallery exhibition, Richard Serra: Prints, which will provide the inspiration for our Annual Gala on Thursday, July 13. Taking place here at the Kimball, the Gala will be a creative evening to celebrate the arts, savor an interactive culinary experience, sip on art-inspired cocktails and bid in our live auction.
Of course, to round out the summer, the first weekend of August is the 48th Annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival, presented by Zions Bank. Whether you are looking to purchase some art, listen to live music or even volunteer, Arts Fest is a three-day event full of fun for the whole family. And you may not know, but it’s also the Kimball Art Center’s largest fundraiser and allows us to provide free exhibitions, arts education programs and community events throughout the year.

We are happy you’re along for the ride and hope you enjoy all the Kimball has to offer this summer.

Happy Creating,
Kimball Art Center

P.S. Did we even mention all the awesome summer camps we are running?

Through collaborative art projects, group workshops and private sessions, Maria teaches the art of integration. She has taught in studios, museums, universities and community centers around the U.S. and now the Kimball Art Center is lucky enough to welcome her for two enlightening workshops.
Yoga for Creatives with Maria Borghoff
Saturday & Sunday, June 17 - 18
Awaken your creative spark with Yoga and art-making! Yoga for Creatives developed as a natural process after Maria realized that all of her best artwork came from her practice and study of Yoga.
This workshop series will help you explore your creative process through gentle movement, meditation, journaling, ceramic art and weaving. If you cannot commit to the whole weekend, each session is offered individually.
Summer Camp Registration is Open!
Week-long camps offered from June 12 - August 24

New this year, we are offering a two-hour tots camp from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. and several classes taught in Spanish and English by instructor Janice Lafarga.
EXHIBITIONS
Richard Serra: Prints
Main Gallery: June 10 August 20
Richard Serra is well-known for his monumental steel sculptures which arc and spiral, however, in Richard Serra: Prints, the Kimball Art Center offers a fresh look at this artist’s practice. Moving back and forth between these two mediums, he explores the complex relationship between his large-scale sculpture, the body and surrounding space. His pared-down black and white prints are highly evocative of this physical experience, and with new approaches to traditional techniques, represent 45 years of compelling experimentation in the medium of printmaking. This exhibition is drawn from the collections of the Jordan D. Schnitzer Family Foundation.
Ink for Alaska
Café Gallery: June 1 - August 31
Portland, Oregon artists, Barbara Mason and Alex Prentiss, supporters of The Alaska Wilderness League, used their talents to help raise awareness and money for the League. Believing in the effort to preserve Alaska’s wild lands and waters, they creatively developed a project using their life experiences in printmaking and invited others to participate in a juried printmaking exhibit showcasing the Art of the Print, with work inspired by Alaska and the northern wilderness. Any printmaking process was permissible.
