WILD WEDNESDAYS

Wild Wednesdays: Red, White and Blue: A Special Independence Day Program

All ages welcome
Join us for a special Independence Day program.  Learn about Bald Eagles and why they are our national symbol. Meet the Ogden Nature Center’s own Bald Eagle, Des Ta Te.  Then go outside and search for things in nature that are RED, WHITE and BLUE.  You’ll be amazed at what you can find!  Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 

Wild Wednesdays: What’s the Buzz?

Buzz on over to the Ogden Nature Center to learn all about Utah’s bees. Over 900 species of bees call Utah home. Find out what makes bees so special and why we need them buzzing around. Please meet in the Visitor Center.

Bouncing, balance, and bait are just a few things for which animals use their tails.  We will explore a variety of ways critters rely on this part of their body.  Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Wild Wednesdays: Whooooo Eats Whom?

Learn about predator prey relationships with the help of one of the Ogden Nature Center’s bird predators and its prey.  Get an up-close look at live animals, skulls, pelts, teeth, and more while learning about the traits that help animals survive in the wild. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
FREE RAMP SUMMER SATURDAYS

The Ogden Nature Center is offering free admission and activities on Saturdays during the summer.  Activities led by a teacher naturalist will be held at 10 am and at 2 pm every Saturday. Activities will include guided nature walks, live animal presentations, games, creative nature crafts and more. Just show up and have fun! Please check in at the Visitors Center front desk.

Free Summer Saturday activities in July – programs at 10 am and 2 pm:
 
July 1 – Terrific Tortoises – Learn the differences between tortoises and turtles.  Meet one of the Ogden Nature Center’s own tortoises and enjoy a silly tortoise craft.

July 8 – Nature Walk Bracelets
 – Join a naturalist and gather items from nature and create a bracelet to remember your experience.
 
July 15 – Rock Necklaces – Vistors of all ages will enjoy making these beautiful rock necklaces.  Find your perfect stone, and then create some personalized jewelry that expresses you and your style.
 
July 22 – Owl Presentation and Craft – Meet one our resident owls that call the Ogden Nature Centers its home.  Learn about the ways this particular owl survives and thrives.  Kids will decorate their own owl to take home and enjoy.  

July 29 – Tarantulas – Friends or foes?  Learn about the unique characteristics of our native tarantulas.  See a tarantula up-close and personal and make a fun spider craft.
 
Meet us at the Ogden Farmer’s Market
Saturdays, June 24 - September 16, from 9 am – 2 pm
Visit the Ogden Nature Center booth at Ogden’s Farmer’s Market in downtown Ogden.  We will be selling the popular market baskets!
 
Summer Nature Camps – still a few openings
The Ogden Nature Center is offering summer camps for age groups ranging from 2-16.  Join in the summer fun and expand your nature knowledge!  Single-day and multi-day adventure camps are available all summer long and a family camp is available in August.  Registration is required.  For more information, pricing, and to register campers, please call 801-621-7595.  Full details are posted online at www.ogdennaturecenter.org <http://www.ogdennaturecenter.org
