The Kimball Art Center welcomes Mark Reed, an experienced backcountry pilot who explores Alaska with his family each summer in their homebuilt bush plane.

Reed will discuss his photography, flying experience, word-class kite making, and passion for preserving Alaska’s wild lands.

Alaska's vast landscapes encompass much of America's last remaining wilderness, and much of it is accessible only by air. In addition to celebrating Alaska’s precious beauty and promoting the protection of these wild lands, Reed’s Café Gallery exhibition, Take Flight: Alaska from Above, is about his spirit of adventure.

As the founder of Prism Designs, the world’s leading kite manufacturer, Reed continues to test and produce new designs. Several models are currently available for purchase in our Gift Shop.
