BACHAUER PIANO CONCERT SERIES SEASON OPENS WITH CHAMBER MUSIC

The Bachauer is known for bringing world-class pianists to Salt Lake City and the 2016-17 concert series artist roster proves this season is no exception.

A wonderful aspect of Utah is that we have world-class musicians who are our neighbors. The Bachauer International Concert Series season opener on October 7th features several of our own: Jason Hardink and Fry Street Quartet. Jason Hardink is Artistic Director of the NOVA Chamber Music Series and Principal Keyboard of the Utah Symphony. The Fry Street Quartet, hailed as "a triumph of ensemble playing" by the New York Times, is the resident string quartet at Caine College of the Arts at Utah State University.

The five musicians will share the stage at Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center with Brahms’ Piano Quintet in F Minor, Mozart’s A Major Piano Concerto, K. 414 (a concerto/chamber music hybrid sanctioned by the composer!), and the intriguing example of New Complexity, Ferneyhough’s Lemma-Icon-Epigram.
