Upcoming Art Talks with Exhibiting Artists

Join us in the Main Gallery to listen and learn from two of our exhibiting artists.

These upcoming Art Talks are free and open to the public.

Lauren Gallaspy

Friday, March 31, 2017 – 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Lauren will be discussing her influences and the evolution of her work, as well as how form, surface, and construction of her pieces contributes to their content. Most of Lauren's work centers around the psychological aspects of embodiment.

She is teaching a workshop on Saturday, April 1st. It is designed for students to learn the basics of overglaze ceramic surfacing.

Giselle Hicks

Friday, April 7, 2017 – 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Giselle will be discussing the three different bodies of work she has pursued over the last 15 years of her career, how they have evolved and how she has successfully made them available to a wider audience. Giselle is the Studio Coordinator in the ceramics department at Anderson Ranch Art Center and will give a brief synopsis of the programs they offer.

After her talk, Giselle will demonstrate the basic coil and pinch techniques that she will expand on during her workshop on Saturday, April 8th.
