Salt Lake City, UT – September 20, 2016 – As part of the UtahPresents 2016-17 season and the Virtuoso Concert Series, Matt Haimovitz will perform The Bach Suites: A Moveable Feast – Overtures to Bach in Salt Lake City in early October. 

Three of the suites, with new overtures commissioned for this work, will be performed at Libby Gardner Concert Hall on Friday, October 7 at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $25, with a $5 ticket for U of U students and a $10 ticket for non-U students and youth under 18, and are available at 801-581-7100 or


In addition to the public performance on October 7, Haimovitz will perform some of the suites as “pop-up” mini-concerts on October 4. Details of these pop-up performances will be announced on the UtahPresents Facebook page (

Besides his relentless touring schedule, he mentors an award-winning studio of young cellists at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music in Montreal.
