Utah Film Center Education

Support the Power of Film in Education

Education policy and best practices have gone through many iterations over the years. The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act enacted in 2002 became the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) in 2015. Both acts were intended to equitably identify students' needs, and help students of all zip codes, race, backgrounds and incomes succeed. But, as these middle schoolers point out in this SHIFT short film Every Child Left Behinddespite good intentions, educational solutions aren't always best solved by blanket policy and regulation.

Our Education team approaches education gaps with a more boots-on-the-ground model, supporting and inspiring teachers and students using the power of film through free SHIFT teacher workshops and student Tumbleweeds film field trips, presentations and workshops. But we depend on people like you to help us do this!

Please consider donating by March 30 for Love UT Give UT to support our education programs.
