Non profits provide a service that supports all and should be given the same advantage as churches. However, we should make sure they follow a strict standard of non profit and are not abusing the privilege

Tourism is important and unless the taxes start to decrease revenue we should encourage more art opportunities for tourists

Last year the state legislature passed a bill (HB223 Local Historic District Amendments) restricting the creation of historical districts. What are your thoughts about historic preservation? (One or two sentences is sufficient).
|
Truly beautiful and meaningful historic buildings and areas should be preserved. However just because a building is old doesn't mean it needs protection. Care should be given to ensure property rights and needless waste of tax dollars are observed

Have you had a personal experience with arts, culture, or humanities that has had an impact on your life? Please explain (one or two sentences is sufficient).

I took ballet as a child from a principal dancer of the San Francisco ballet. Even though I did not pursue it, the love of music and movement has stayed with me. All of my children learned to play an instrument and my daughters danced. My granddaughters now dance and compose music and play various instruments. I believe all of our lives are enriched through art
