Come immerse yourself in the joyful jazz quintet that Chicago Jazz Magazine called “effervescent” and “a miracle.” A Chicago native, Kobie began his musical journey as a child listening to his father, Alious C. Watkins, playing drums in their local church. Kobie started with pots and pans as a toddler, but steadily progressed into the hip hyphenate he is today — a professional drummer-educator. He eventually became known as the “Swing Master” of Chicago and has worked closely with Wynton Marsalis and collaborated with numerous other jazz legends. This is an evening of world-class jazz you won’t want to miss!
