No skills needed for this. Join us for this fun and exciting opportunity. We will show you step-by-step instructions on how to cut glass, pattern preparation, foiling, soldering in order for you to complete your first stained glass art.

During this nine-week workshop, we will be learning the rich tradition of Ottoman Turkish stained glass or Vitray. All of us are familiar with stained glass windows in churches and buildings, and it may be a surprise to see the wealth of this artform in historical Turkish architecture. We will start with the history of this beautiful art form in Turkey and its impact in the West, learn how to develop the geometries of traditional craftsmanship which were kept secret in European guilds for generations – using the same tools they did - and learn how to design our own traditional Turkish Islamic geometric and floral patterns. We will be building at least three Vitray projects in the traditional manner, closing the ninth week with our own exhibition and reception - critiqued by that rarest of rare birds, a Utah Governor’s Mansion Artist Award winner who is an expert stained glass designer and craftsman. So come and learn with us – the class is taught by Andrew Kosorok, an accomplished stained glass artist and designer who taught at BYU and has over thirty years of experience.
