HB324 Special Group License Plate Amendment Update

Thank you to all who reached out to the committee or attended the meeting. We wanted to keep you updated on the bill's progress. After the bill was heard in committee on February 14, the sponsor made favorable changes to HB324. It was heard again in the House Transportation Committee on February 18 and passed unanimously. This bill will now move to a full house vote and then to a senate committee. 

The bill now includes a onetime transfer of $3.5 million of existing funds to the Utah Historical Society (UHS) in July 2025. Beginning on July 1, 2025, instead of imposing an annual funding cap, the $25 donation will be split with $2 from each plate purchased or renewed going to the UHS and the remaining $23 going to the Transportation Investment Fund. You can read the full bill text here.
