Hey, Crickets!!!!!   

Join us Thursday at 7:30pmNov. 16th, at the The SugarSpace Warehouse (132 South 800 west SLC). Come hear your favorite Utah composers & friends performing their own works in a festive season-ending concert. 


This concert features Nathaniel Eschler's Audience Favorite Commission - "Fable for Cello Alone" - performed by cellist, and Salty Cricket Resident Artist, Noriko Kishi.

Also, Devin Maxwell's "Chord Toss 3" performed by The Red Desert Ensemble. 

Other composers include:

  • Steve Roens - University of Utah Professor

  • Luke Pfeil - Aspen Winds Bassoonist

  • Maya Johnson - 16 year old emerging artist

  • Alfonso Tenreiro - Internationally renowned composer

DR. ESCHLER is the Artistic Director for the Salty Cricket Composers Collective and co-founder of El Sistema@Salty Cricket.  He is active as a composer, teacher, father, and entrepreneur. His music has been enjoyed by audiences internationally, although his favorite audiences are in his home state of Utah.
 
Nathaniel received his PhD from Brandeis University; MM from the University of Utah; and BA from the College of Charleston.

DEVIN MAXWELL is a composer and percussionist whose work has been described as “amiably strident…clusters hammered insistently” by the New York Times and as “a beautiful puzzle, … fitting between plucks and pedals that build pyramid melodies” by the American Record Guide.  He teaches at the University of Utah, Westminster College, and is a co-founder of the VU Symposium for Experimental, Electronic and Improvised Music.  His music is published by Good Child Music and Éditions musique SISYPHE.
