Interactive art opening and performance at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art.
The Utah Museum of Contemporary Art has teamed up with the_openroom, a small collective of Salt Lake City-based artists who specialize in Post-Internet art practices, to organize the exhibition and performance. The exhibition showcases the work of twelve national and international artists who use various processes, materials, and media to explore the ideas of a Post-Internet art practice. An interactive performance will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 8:30-10:30 pm in the courtyard adjacent to the museum. Join us as collaborators in reworking and augmenting the selected artworks in real-time using digital editing tools located on-site. Keyboards, mouse, and tablets will be sanitized between uses, and masks are required at the event. Artist Marisa Olson, who is credited with coining the phrase "Post-Internet Art," will join via Zoom for a video chat at 8:30 pm to kick the event off.
