Park City's arts and culture nonprofits bring fun and engaging experiences to our community. They offer programs to inspire creative minds. They support local artists develop their craft. They make our town a colorful and celebrated destination.

During this community Day of Giving consider a donation to one or more of our arts and culture groups. The Arts Council is a proud participant in Live PC Give PC.

 
 
2016 HALLOWEEN ON MAIN STREET

Trick or Treat 3 - 5pm
Dog Parade 5pm

A favorite event for Park City families and dog owners. Get into costume and head into town. Main Street will be closed to traffic from 2 - 7pm and Swede Alley will be a one way headed north until 7pm.

Other events happening include Carrie The Musical at Egyptian TheaterTim Burton Weekend at Flanagan's on Main and the last Halloween themed painting session at The Paint Mixer!

The 2016-2017 Main Stage season at the Park City Institute begins on Dec. 3rd with a leap into the heart of American political critiques. Pulitzer prize-winning New York Times columnist and former White House correspondent Maureen Dowd will be joined by Carl Hulse, a congressional correspondent for the New York Times. Together, they present a kind of yin and yang of our nation’s political/social landscape – as well as an insider take on politicians and other creatures indigenous to Washington, D.C. Kimball Art Center inspires and connects through art. Dealer's Choice, up through November 6th, features inspiring artwork chosen by Park City's local gallerists, highlighting both the artists and the curatorial selections. Beginning November 19th, Holly Manneck's exhibit, Popped and Twisted, references Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns and Roy Lichtenstein providing a contemporary take on Pop Art that layers images and stories and speaks to the complexity of everyday life. Exhibits include a scaled model of a late 19th century Mega Mine, an original car from the world's only Skier Subway and an exploration of the great wealth divide between miners and mine owners. SWANER PRESERVE

Endangered Landscapes: America's National Lands features over 50 images by artist Rick Braveheart, captured over 400 days spent living alone within national parks. The exhibit weaves together elements of art, education, environment and ecology with opportunities for visitor reflection and interaction. It runs through Nov. 27th.

ALF ENGEN SKI MUSEUM

Utah Olympic Park, Park City
Open daily from 10 to 6pm

Located at the Joe Quinney Winter Sports Center at Utah Olympic Park, the Museum's displays honor the athletes, volunteers and sports from the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and also include a Ski History Collection, an Intermountain Ski Hall of Fame, and interactive chairlift and ski jumping exhibits. Entrance is free and open to the public.

 

SUMMIT COUNTY HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Located in the basement of the County Courthouse, just 15 minutes from Park City, the Summit County Historical Museum gives visitors a snapshot of local history and heritage. Tours available by prior arrangement by calling 435-336-3200.

The Park City Library, in the heart of Old Town, offers an outstanding collection of over 70,000 books, e-books, periodicals, audio-visual materials, free public computers and wireless Internet access. Preschool and toddler story times and music classes are held weekly. Residents and visitors are welcome.

The Summit County Library’s mission is to foster lifelong learning opportunities and enrich lives through innovative resources and programming. Additional library locations include the Coalville Branch, Kamas Branch and Bookmobile. Activities by branch can be viewed via the above link. Programs offered include an afterschool homework club, toddler story time, and a knitting club. The Kimball Junction Branch Library displays rotating art exhibits in its entry hallway.
