Nests, Nooks & Storybooks
Every Tuesday from 3:45 pm – 4:15 pm
Free for members
$5 adults / $4 seniors / $3 kids (2-11)            
All ages welcome!
Grab a blanket and join us in the field, alongside a pond, or under the trees for story time at the Ogden Nature Center.  Every Tuesday afternoon, come read a book with us outside. We’ll dive deeper into the themes of the story by exploring the Ogden Nature Center.  Please check in at the Visitor Center.  No reservations needed, just drop in.

Wild Wednesday: Oh Deer!
Wednesday, November 1st from 3:45pm – 4:15pm
Free for members / $5 adults / $4 seniors / $3 kids (2-11)            
All ages welcome!
Large ears that never stop moving….  Antlers that grow back every year….  The ability to run at speeds over 45 miles per hour! What is it?  Mule Deer!  Join us for a special Wild Wednesday program about one of our favorite and most fascinating mammals that call Utah and the Ogden Nature Center home.  Join an Ogden Nature Center teacher/naturalist as we search for live deer. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Wild Wednesday: In Honor – A Special Veteran’s Day Program
Wednesday, November 8th from 3:45pm – 4:15pm
Free for members / $5 adults / $4 seniors / $3 kids (2-11)            
All ages welcome!
Join us for our annual celebration of Veterans Day as we discuss the history of this special holiday.  Our resident Bald Eagle, Des Ta Te, will be on hand as we honor our veterans.  Free admission for veterans and current military members and their families. Program will highlight some scout requirements. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Nocturnal Senses Night Hike 
Thursday, November 9th, 6:30 – 8 pm
$3 for members / $5 for non-members                                    
All ages welcome.  Maximum: 20
What kind of nocturnal senses does it take to survive the night? Join one of our teacher/naturalists for a night-time hike to discover what it’s like to be a creature of the moon and stars. Bring your walking shoes and remember to dress for the weather. Reservations are required. Please RSVP by 5pm Wednesday, November 8th to 801-621-7595.

Join the education team for tales and demonstrations of plant and animal uses by the 5 indigenous tribes of Utah. Step back in time as you step into a real life tipi. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Scout Saturday: Boy Scouts Bird Study Merit Badge
Saturday, November 18th from 9 am – 12 pm 
Cost: $25 per scout                                                                        
Ages: 11-17   Maximum: 15
What better place to work on a merit badge than the Ogden Nature Center? In this 3-hour workshop, our teacher/naturalists will lead scouts through the majority of the requirements for the Bird Badge. Pre-registration is required. Scout Saturday: Girl Scouts Cadet's Trees Badge
Saturday, November 18th from 1 pm – 4 pm 
$15 per scout (parents free)                                                
Ages: 11-14   Maximum: 20
Join your fellow Girl Scout Cadet's at the Ogden Nature Center to explore the world of trees and fulfill your Trees Badge requirements.  You will complete all five steps by taking a tree trip to the Nature Center, identifying and sketching trees, getting crafty with trees, debating the merits of the timber industry, and caring for a tree at the Nature Center! Preschool Discovery Days: Fair Feathered Friends
Choose a date and time:
Monday, November 20th or Tuesday, November 21st   
9:30 am11 am, or 1 pm
Cost: $5 members / $6 non-members                                    
Ages: 3 – 5  
Discover what makes a bird a bird as you delve into the world of beaks, wings, feathers and feet. Meet live birds of prey, hear fanciful feathered fables and make-and-take a bird craft. Our preschool programs are designed for 3 – 5 year old children. Preschool 
admission price includes 1 child and 1 adult. Preschool groups of 5 or more children are $5 per child/adult pair; teachers/aides are free with participating class. A nonrefundable deposit of 50% must be paid in advance to pre-register groups of 5 children or more. General admission fees will apply to any additional family members in attendance. Pre-registration is required for all participants.  Walk-ins will only be welcome if space is available. Please note that classes with low attendance may be canceled. Wild Wednesday: Gobble, Gobble! 
All About Turkeys

Are you a natural gobbler?  The more you learn about these unique birds the faster you’ll discover that there is more to the turkey than meets the palate. Learn fun facts about turkeys & Thanksgiving, and then hit the trails to look for other ground-dwelling birds. Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
Wild Wednesday: All that Scat
Wednesday, November 29th from 3:45 pm – 4:15 pm
Free for members / $5 adults / $4 seniors / $3 kids (2-11)            
All ages welcome!
Scat is animal poop. Knowing who dropped what helps us understand who is moving around at the Nature Center.  Join an Ogden Nature Center teacher/naturalist as we take a short hike around the Nature Center looking for scat and the animals that left 
it behind.  Please meet in the Visitor Center.
 
HOLIDAY WORKSHOP SERIES – SANTA IS GOING GREEN THIS YEAR!
Come to the Ogden Nature for a holiday gift making series the first three Saturdays of November, allowing you enough time to make this the season of homemade gift-giving! Attend one, two, or all three – register for all three workshops and save. Cost for all 3: $35 for members / $40 for non-members
 
Holiday Workshop: Upcycled Mittens
Saturday, November 4th from 2pm – 4pm 
Cost: $18 for members / $20 for non-members                                    
Ages: 12+ / Maximum: 12 participants
Instructor:  Jenny Frame
Create the perfect winter accessory to give as a gift or keep for yourself! These stylish winter mittens are warm, cozy and earth friendly. If possible, bring your scissors and sewing machine (we will have a few machines to borrow). All other supplies will be provided, and you will take home your very own pair of mittens and the pattern to make even more from home! Space is limited. Pre-register by Thursday, November 2nd to reserve your spot. Ages 12 & up (under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult).
 
Holiday Workshop: Living Green Ornaments
Saturday, November 11th from 10am – 12 pm
Cost: $12 for members / $15 for non-members                                    
Ages: 10+  / Maximum: 20 participants
Take a piece of the Ogden Nature Center home for the holidays by learning to build terrarium ornaments! Miniature growing gardens make a beautiful holiday decoration or a gift for friends & family. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Call 801-621-7595 by Thursday 9th to reserve your spot. Ages 10 & up (under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult). 
 
Holiday Workshop: Handmade Paper Card-Making
Saturday, November 18th from 10am – 12 pm
Cost: $10 for members / $12 for non-members                                    
Ages: 8+  / Maximum: 20 participants
Have a holly, jolly holiday learning how to create handmade paper for all your holiday card needs. We will guide you through the process of paper making, supply additional decorative paper, and provide inspiration to craft your own holiday cards on-site. You will leave with completed cards to share with loved ones this holiday season, and your own paper to make additional cards! Please pre-register by Thursday, November 16th to reserve your spot. Ages 8 & up (under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult).
