Early Brahms and a World Premiere

On Sunday, November 6 NOVA Chamber Music Series welcomes Utah Symphony Music Director Thierry Fischer, the Madeleine Choir School Choristers, and Utah Chamber Artists.

Come prepared to enjoy stunningly gorgeous and inventive works by Brahms, including Begräbnisgesang op. 13, Four Songs for children’s choir, harp, and horns, op. 17, and Piano Quartet in G Minor, opus 25.

Also on this program is a brand new piccolo concerto written for Caitlyn Valovick Moore by British composer Simon Holt.

This is the second time NOVA is working with Thierry Fischer since he began with the Utah Symphony in 2009. His vibrant personality, commitment to the arts, and passion for live classical and contemporary music has wowed Utah audiences for over 7 years.

The Utah Chamber Artists recently opened their 2016-17 season on September 26 with a performance in Salt Lake City’s Cathedral of the Madeleine. Catherine Reese Newton of the Salt Lake Tribune stated, “[their] continuous ribbon of sound throughout the beautiful building was a delight”.

Topping it all off will be the addition of the incredible Madeleine Choir School Choristers. This is the second time in three years NOVA is collaborating with the Choristers, and they’re sure to deliver a stunning performance of Brahms’ choral pieces.
