Upcoming Workshop: Museum Volunteer Training and Management 

When: Friday, August 19th & Friday September 23rd 
Where: Museum of Peoples and Cultures, BYU Campus 

 
This two-part workshop series will provide training to museum staff, volunteer, and volunteer coordinators on effective volunteer management and recruiting. Upon completion of the program, participants can expect to assess volunteer needs and match them with the goals of the museum in addition to developing relevant volunteer roles and opportunities to address critical needs at your museum.

Small Museums Academy
Deadline: September 30, 2016

 
The American Alliance of Museums is extending their Small Museums Academy program for the 2016-2017 year. This year long program gets your museum up to best practices with its core documents and prepares your museum for accredidation. For more information and to apply, see their website

A New Series! 

Join us every other month beginning in August for a series of conversations featuring a museum topic such as administration, collections, or education, facilitated by an expert host.

To kick the series off, UA&M will be hosting the first conversation on Mounting Garments for Exhibition, August 8th, from 11AM-2PM. Bring a lunch and learn about best practices for mounting your costume collections!

Our division recently launched a new campaign to encourage everyone to look for art in every day encounters and experiences.Tell us what you find and use #ifindart in your social media sharing. We're gathering photos and experiences to share with all of our arts and museums audiences.
 
Our hope is to encourage everyone to recognize how art plays a vital role in their every day life. If you ride UTA Frontrunner, look for our new ads featuring visual arts fellowship recipients Pam Bowman and David Brothers.
