In addition to that exciting news, we want to share our Visiting Artist Series. The Kimball’s Education Department prides itself on providing high quality, relevant art classes. This summer’s Visiting Artist Series brings four incredible artists from around the country to Park City. The first artist is Nancy Paris Pruden from Houston, TX. She will teach two Plein Air in Oils workshops. The second is Kath Macaulay, from Spokane, WA, who will teach Pocket Sketching, one class for beginners and one as a refresher course. Then Katherine England, well known around the Kimball for her awesome mosaics, will teach several classes for kids, teens and adults. Finally, August brings Debra Dolsberry, all the way from Hawaii, to teach Silk Painting, a new class offering.
Please join us in welcoming Lindsie and our visiting artists to the Kimball Art Center community. Hope to see you at our many upcoming events including our Gala where Lindsie will make her first public appearance.
Happy Creating,
Kimball Art Center

For Katherine, daily art journaling is her meditation, her solace, her creative challenge and her confidant. Katherine emphasizes the act of being aware – recognizing moments and feelings without simply writing about them. This class explores and addresses the habit and ritual of daily journaling with the goal of learning self-expression in ways that are satisfying to you and visually interesting to the occasional observer.

Richard Serra: Prints
Main Gallery: June 10 - August 20
|
"But rather than a massive sculpture installation, his exhibition at the Kimball, appropriately called Richard Serra: Prints, shows a different perspective on the artist’s work. With more than 45 years of experimentation in the medium of printmaking, these black and white prints showcase many innovative techniques and, although you won’t be able to move through them, they still represent a highly evocative version of these physical experiences. This exhibition is drawn from the collections of the Jordan D. Schnitzer Family Foundation."

Ink for Alaska
Café Gallery: June 1 - August 31
|
Portland, Oregon artists, Barbara Mason and Alex Prentiss, supporters of The Alaska Wilderness League, used their talents to help raise awareness and money for the League. Believing in the effort to preserve Alaska’s wild lands and waters, they creatively developed a project using their life experiences in printmaking and invited others to participate in a juried printmaking exhibit showcasing the Art of the Print, with work inspired by Alaska and the northern wilderness. Any printmaking process was permissible.
