While UMFA galleries remain closed for remodeling, the Museum is hosting films and artist talks in our Katherine W. and Ezekiel R. Dumke Jr. Auditorium and Third Saturdays for Families in our education classroom. The Museum Café and Museum Store are open for business Monday through Friday.
UMFA galleries will reopen the weekend of August 26–27, 2017.

Portraits not only represent what someone looks like, they often show their hobbies, likes, and personality. Create your own portrait on a wooden peg doll with inspiration from traditional portraits in the UMFA education collection.

Family Art Making at Fillmore City Library

The UMFA and Utah Territorial Statehouse in Fillmore are hosting a free family day at the Fillmore City Library to learn about the work potters do and make your own clay pot.
Pottery is one of the world's oldest art forms and making pots is one of the oldest jobs. We will explore traditional pottery techniques used by American Indians and Utah pioneers then try our hand at coil, slab, and pinch pots using air-dry clay.
The UMFA has teamed up with Utah Humanities to bring The Way We Worked to six Utah communities. Curriculum and free programming connect the exhibition to the history and resources of each community. The exhibition is part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institution and Utah Humanities created by the National Archives with support from the United States Congress.

Our neighborhood streets, houses, and businesses form a community. With inspiration from the buildings in your neighborhood, decorate three wooden blocks to create a sculpture of your own small community.

Join the UMFA in Utah's amazing wilderness to experience art and nature. Learn about America's long tradition of sketching in nature and experiment with a variety of art media—charcoal, pencil, crayon, pastel, and conté—to create your own nature drawing in a sketchbook you can keep.
