We have just posted three brand new Media Labs for this summer! Our Summer Media Labs are a great way for students 13 - 19 to learn new skills, to create something cool and to check out everything Spy Hop has to offer. Each of these will meet for one week, Monday - Friday, from 1 - 3 PM.

3D Digital Modeling: (June 19 - 23) Use 3D software Cinema4D to build textured, realistic cosmic illustrations. Sounds for Films: (June 26 - 30) Spend a week learning about post-production sound design for films using Pro Tools and Ableton Live. Nature Documentary: (June 26 - 30) Explore natural areas around Salt Lake and learn camera and editing techniques to be the next great nature filmmaker.   Sign Up Today! Program Highlight: Resonate Spy Hop's program, Resonate, brings together music theory, beatmaking, songwriting and performing in to an accelerated production class. Started just a few years ago, Spy Hop's Hip Hop production class has quickly become a favorite in the community.  In each 10-week session, students come together to create original beats and lyrics that celebrate rap and hip hop as a vehicle of storytelling and social change. The program challenges students to write verses that relate to their lives and their communities to create positive change.  Last month, three of the Resonate students traveled to Oakland, California to watch their beats be incorporated into an original live dance performance, Illuminate, at Destiny Arts. While in California they also got the chance to visit with RYSE Youth Center and to see how another youth organization runs their music program.  Check out the latest Resonate album, The Seven Day Theory, on Soundcloud.
