Craft Lake City Announces Google Fiber as Returning Sponsor of the STEM Building at the 9th Annual DIY Festival


Salt Lake City, July 7  Craft Lake City® is pleased to announce that Google Fiber will return as sponsor of the STEM Building at the 9th Annual Craft Lake City DIY (Do-It-Yourself) Festival®, held on Friday, Aug. 11, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.Saturday, Aug. 12, from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 13, from noon to 7 p.m.


The Google Fiber STEM Building is one of the most popular destinations at the DIY Festival each year. Featuring local tinkerers, tech startups, nonprofit organizations and educational institutions, the STEM Building provides a unique opportunity to learn about STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) projects happening here in our community. STEM crafts let kids get hands-on with topics such as circuits, mechanics, programming and more.

New this year, STEM workshops will occur throughout the weekend, where attendees can learn from local experts in math, engineering, and astronomy. Stay tuned for more details, coming soon to our web site!

Google Fiber will present an interactive exhibit inside the STEM Building in addition to hosting a booth on the plaza where attendees can learn more about Google Fiber's super fast Internet speeds and crystal clear TV. In addition to the Google Fiber STEM Building, Craft Lake City’s 9th Annual DIY Festival will feature over 250 Utah-based artisans and other local creatives, including craft foodies, vintage vendors, Kid Row youth makers and two different stages featuring local performers. The DIY Festival will be held at the Gallivan Center, 239 South Main Street in downtown Salt Lake City. Entry is $5 for adults, while children 12 and under get in for free. Buy your tickets now!
