SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (April 26, 2017) – The Utah Symphony and United Concerts today announced that the world tour of “La La Land” in Concert will come to Utah at West Valley City’s USANA Amphitheatre on Saturday, June 24, 2017. Erik Ochsner will conduct composer Justin Hurwitz’ Oscar®-winning score and Oscar®-winning song “City of Stars” (with lyrics by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul) performed live-to-film by the Utah Symphony, accompanying the film's original vocal recordings.

“Utah Symphony is thrilled to collaborate with United Concerts and USANA to bring this fantastic film with its Oscar-winning score to Utah,” said Utah Symphony | Utah Opera President and CEO Paul Meecham. “Our audiences have absolutely loved the cinematic experience of watching a blockbuster movie on the big screen while the orchestra plays the soundtrack live to picture. The chance to witness “La La Land” in Concert in an outdoor setting like USANA Amphitheatre is sure to delight Utahns and build further momentum for our upcoming Films in Concert series which launches later this fall.”

Tickets go on sale on Friday, April 28 at 10:00 a.m. via www.smithtix.com, all Smith’s Tix outlets, and by phone 801-467-TIXX, 1-800-888-TIXX. Visit http://www.usana-amp.com/venue-info/ for venue information and frequently asked questions.

Released by Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment label, “La La Land” is the winner of six Academy Awards® including Best Actress Emma Stone, who stars alongside Ryan Gosling (Academy Award® nominee for Best Actor) and John Legend, whose recorded vocal performance will be featured in this event. The film is written and directed by Damien Chazelle, who won the Oscar® for Best Director.

"For me, one of the most thrilling and fulfilling parts of making 'La La Land' was scoring the film to a live orchestra: a hundred phenomenal local musicians playing in real-time to the Technicolor images, bringing Justin's compositions to vivid life," said Oscar®-winning director Damien Chazelle.

The world premiere of “La La Land” in Concert will take place at the Hollywood Bowl over the Memorial Day weekend, and tour the country in cities including Atlanta, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, San Antonio, Dallas, Indianapolis, Nashville, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Denver and Washington.
