Mural Opportunity-Request for Qualifications
Outdoor mural to be commissioned for the new Alinea Development in the Central Ninth District of downtown Salt Lake City.

Deadline to Apply: October 31, 2017

Entry Fee: Free
This opportunity is open to all artists with experience creating large-scale murals. A special preference will be given to artists demonstrating an understanding of the Central Ninth community and willingness to engage with and receive feedback from residents and community leaders.
The Utah Museum of Contemporary Art in association with Landforge, INC., seek artists interested in creating a large-scale outdoor artwork (45' x 20') to add to the vibrancy of the Central Ninth District. This artwork will have high visibility and will be prominently displayed across from the UTA Trax stop on 200 West. The goal is for the mural to be completed by May 2018.
There is no application fee to enter and two of the three artists asked to submit a proposal will receive a $300 stipend for their time developing their mural concept. From the artists asked for a proposal, one will be selected to create the artwork for the location. Payment to Selected Artist: $10,000, material costs up to $1500.
To apply please submit a short artist bio and five images of previous work in PDF format (no more than 10MB) to [email protected]. From these submissions, three artists will be asked to submit a proposal.
