Craft Lake City and West Elm Presents: Metal Ring workshop with Erica Richards of Land of Salt
Salt Lake City, Friday Jan. 20 – West Elm and Craft Lake City present the February Stacking Metal Ring Workshop with Erica Richardson of Land of Salt. The workshop will be held on Thursday, Feb. 2, at West Elm City Creek from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Erica Richardson, Craft Lake City DIY Festival artisan alumni and lifelong creator, started Land of Salt in 2013. From her humble roots selling prints, Richardson began exploring various methods to create jewelry. Through a great deal of trial and error and after learning how to electroplate and use traditional metalsmithing methods, Richardson began selling jewelry under the moniker Land of Salt. By sourcing materials from local rock shops and destinations in Utah, Land of Salt takes pride in its namesake. In 2015, Richardson realized her dream of opening a brick-and-mortar studio to sell her items as well as promote and sell products from other makers throughout the U.S. Land of Salt and Mineral and Matter is open five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday. Located at 351 W Pierpont Avenue, Suite 1B, Salt Lake City, UT 84101.

“I’m a firm believer that learning new skills, and flexing your creative muscle are instrumental in leading a fulfilling life,” says Richardson. “I can’t wait to share some of the jewelry techniques I have learned over the years and to get your hands dirty!”

For the February Craft Lake City and West Elm workshop, Erica will instruct participants on how to make a custom set of stacking metal rings using an acetylene torch and other metal working techniques.
