  • Margaret Cho

    Margaret Cho was raies in San Francisco. "It was different than any other place on Earth," she said. "I grew up and went to grammar school on Haight Street during the '70s. There were old hippies, ex-druggies, burnouts, drag queens, and Chinese people. To say it was a melting pot - that's the least of it. I was a really confusing enlightening, wonderful time." Ignoring the traditions of her patriarchal culture, her mother bravely resisted an arranged marriage in Korea and married Margaret's father a Korean joke book writer.

    Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved tales and the classic animated film,?Disney's The Little Mermaid?is a beautifully melodic love story with music by eight-time Academy Award winner, Alan Menken. In a magical kingdom beneath the sea, the young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above. After bargaining with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs, Ariel soon discovers that this agreement is not what it seems, and she relies on the help of her colorful friends, Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull, and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea.

    Odyssey Dance Theatre will present its smash Halloween Hit Thriller in 5 locations this year. This year’s show will have all of the favorite pieces from the past – Thriller, The Curse of the Mummy, Dem Bones, Frankenstein, Jason Jam, Salem’s Mass, & The Lost Boys – plus a few new surprises.     Following successful runs Off-Broadway and in Los Angeles, Cagney is preparing an expanded and enhanced production for Salt Lake City, on its way to its Broadway debut. The award-winning musical follows the life of the legendary James Cagney from the streets of New York to his rise as one of the brightest stars of Hollywood, from a vaudeville song-and-dance man to the cinema’s original tough guy. The multi-talented cast includes Robert Creighton who originated the role in New York that earned him the 2016 Astaire Award. The cast tap dances through a score that blends original music with classic George M. Cohan favorites, including “Give My Regards To Broadway,” “Grand Old Flag” and “Yankee Doodle Dandy.”
