The arts have always played a big role in my life. Throughout school I took art, film, and music classes. My college humanities class open the door to many new cultural and art festivities around the state that I had never heard of. I have volunteered at the arts festival a few years. I have worked in schools that are part of the Beverly Sorensen arts program. I believe that art in school gives students a way to express themselves. As a teacher of students with disabilities I've seen first hand how powerful art can be for non verbal students with autism.
