This position is 20-24 hours per week, including periodic evening and weekend hours for programs and gallery stroll.

 

Benefits: This position includes paid holidays and vacation. Salary Range $15,000 - $18,000 depending on hours and experience.

 

JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Program Director, the Program and Gallery Assistant is responsible for administrative tasks related to program and gallery management. Tasks include assisting with gallery exhibit set up, communicating with artists and clients, reviewing marketing, website, and mailing materials, inventory, program outreach and volunteer coordination.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

General Office and Volunteer Administration:

  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Periodically review website materials for accuracy
  • Make Costco shopping trips
  • Inventory of office supplies
  • Maintain volunteer database
  • Coordinate volunteer support

 

Gallery Administration

  • Update and post gallery application, as well as maintain online application process
  • Act as contact for open call gallery exhibits
  • Prepare gallery contracts
  • Intake artist paperwork and create labels for exhibits
  • Communicate with artists regarding gallery details
  • Maintain artist database
  • Assist with gallery show hanging at Art Access and at SLAC/other partners
  • Review outreach and marketing materials for gallery
  • Maintain organization of gallery space
  • Front Door Shop inventory

 

Program Administration

  • Assist with program marketing and outreach
  • Generate attendance and accommodation lists
  • Maintain inventory of workshop and storage areas
  • Verify payment with workshop participants/parents

 

 

Skills Required:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite and comfortable learning new computer programs
  • Ability to work independently and/or with a team and manage time efficiently
  • Understanding of social issues affecting the arts and disability communities

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelors degree or 4 years relevant experience preferred
