Job Summary

CUAC is seeking applications for our Education Coordinator position. This person will oversee our current program of art classes for preschool and elementary school aged students through the Salt Lake Public Library. This person is in charge of managing a budget, developing curriculum, teaching classes, training and supervising teachers. This is a part-time position.

Responsibilities

The CUAC Education Coordinator is responsible for the creation, management and maintenance of all CUAC youth programming. This includes:

  • Ensuring CUAC provides the public an educational experience that is reliable, non- intimidating and unique from any other available programming.

  • Be the educational liaison between CUAC and the Salt Lake City Public Library.

  • Develop programming.

  • Create educationally practical events, classes and workshops that are efficient and

    accessible to the public as well as fiscally aligned with CUAC budgeting.

  • Provide education staff with teaching guidelines, lesson plans and materials to help

    them be successful educators in the community.

  • Collaborate with local artists and organizations, creating effective lesson plans that

    coincide with the age groups we target. Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in art or art education field required.

  • Excellent writing skills.

  • Experience managing a budget.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.

  • Good people skills.

  • Knowledge and understanding of contemporary art.

  • Self-motivated and able to work alone well.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage people.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Experience developing an education programming.

  • Contribute to the creation of our education programming through participation in

    fundraising efforts.

    Preferences

  • Experience writing and producing newsletters and/or other promotional copy.

  • Experience working in a non-profit.

  • Experience organizing special events and fundraising activities.

  • Social media competency.

  • Graphic design and web design experience.
