Wednesday, 12 October 2016, 7:00 pm
Ogden’s Union Station. This is a free, all-ages event.
The WSU Jazz Combo, Directed by Daniel Jonas, will present a free, all-ages concert in the Grand Lobby of Ogden’s Union Station, Wednesday, 12 October, at 7pm. This ensemble will restore jazz lovers’ faith in the young people of today and the continuance of this truly American art form.
A testament to the enthusiasm that Dan Jonas brings to WSU jazz music student is the number of players involved this year. The Combo traditionally has only 4-5 members, This fall's Combo includes
Alto Sax, Graysen Castell
Trumpet, Teagan Davis
Trumpet, Ryan Wheeler
Piano, Austen Fowles
Piano, Nick Halverston
Piano, Mike Russell
Guitar, Matt Child
Guitar, Justin Green
Bass, Max Cox
Drums, Chris Gutierrez
Now in his second year at WSU, Jonas brings out the best of his ensemble members, challenging them to step up to the enthusiasm he shows for this musical style. He is already known to join in with them as a performer on a number of the pieces.
Children are welcome as long as they do not disturb the performers or other audience members. Come early to make sure you have a seat. Jazz at the Station usually performs for standing-room-only audiences.
