Answer: I recall being the guest of a family friend while I was attending graduate school in Boston. He invited me to a concert of the Boston Symphony at Symphony Hall. The conductor was Seiji Ozawa. I had never attended such a high-brow event and worried that I was ill-prepared. I do not recall the program but have retained the etching of its enchantment and luminance on my sensibilities. I recall wondering, just as a young son exclaimed during a visit with me to the National Gallery in the exhibit area of the Italian Masters after viewing a small portrait by Leonardo; Dad, how could anything could be so beautiful?
