ARTIST STATEMENT: Animals have always held symbolism in cultures across the globe. The lady bug is a symbol of joy and growth. The black panther represents creatures of the night, stillness and strength. The fish represents wealth, prosperity and happiness and the Butterfly is the gateway to the soul. Each person showcased inside their very own canvas is connected to the animal they are pictured with. I hope you can find a little something to connect to as you walk through my menagerie. BIO: Grace Prows is a current student at Davis High School and the 2019 winner of BDAC’s Artist-in-Residence Emerging Artist program.
