Unanimous, no other motions because of lack of heads (no technology)

  2. Interstate Compact for Education (Sen. Millner)

Sen Millner %25 to fully participate in condition in respect to education policy (%25 from governor’s office, %25 from )

  1. 6:20 p.m. Subcommittee Base Budget Reports
  2. Retirement and Independent Entities

Rep Hawks – Surplus found, reduce costs but $300,000 overall, can be distributed as legislature seems fit.  HB183 eliminated need for court reporter.

Sen. Zender/Hemmert? - Added new intent language items.  DHRM

Utah futures – not funded last year, but two years before that.  Tracking meaningful data about return for investment?  One time amount ($1 Million) or private or user funding sources assistance to run study

  1. Executive Appropriations Committee Agencies

Reduced about 3% of state fund base.  Reallocations discussion.  $133.6 Billion dollar budget

Sen Waymert, Hammert, Alica gardner and dr. ricole-

$4.2 million in reductions, keep and reallocate funds.

Joe Briscoe – 2-1 reduce university technology (not eliminate?)

              Reduce $180,00, Left 2 million in the fund

Rep. Wilson – Grants, repetitive? Multiyear? Use?

12-18 months w/Average of $240,000; Used for research via application, about 15 different proposals to be selected.

Dig deeper into this program- lots of questisons about this program.

****Lots of heritage and arts requests, given a budget, anything over $50,000*** Stop they idea that

# of requests, way too many through this agency

Arts issues not necessarily prioritized by at least vetted, a better understanding of what’s going on.
