How have the arts, culture, and/or humanities impacted your life?
Answer: I've spent much of my life as one of the co-founders and board members of a non-profit based in Chiapas, Mexico called Foundation Escalera. I've been fortunate to experience many different cultures throughout my life, but it is here in rural Mexico that has had the most profound affect on my thinking. This is why I feel protecting arts and humanities as mayor is so important, so that different cultures can be experienced, even here within our city.
