When I was growing up, my stepfather's job with the federal government required him to move nearly every two years. Because I played the piano, clarinet, and sang, I always took a music class like choir or band. These are the classes where I made friends, felt at home, and escaped my sadness for the friends I left behind, through my involvement in the arts.
