About the Bands: The Harmed Brothers Nestled between the rolling farmland of Oregon’s Willamette Valley and the impossibly tall trees further south, the gold and timber town of Cottage Grove has always drawn an eclectic mix of dreamers, drifters and prophets to its downtown Main Street. These days, they call it “indiegrass,” the rustic American musical blend that celebrates and chronicles the physical and emotional gauntlet the Harmed Brothers have always ridden, zigzagging endlessly in vans across the nation. It’s an inclusive sound, the melding of two unique voices adorned each night with the contributions of the many pickers, singers and songwriters the Brothers have encountered in their travels. It’s known as the “Harmed Family Roadshow,” and it’s as much a nightly happening as a sound in constant flux — from a jangly acoustic three-piece one night to a manic mariachi string band the next, a wall of rock-and-roll bombast at times giving way to the whispered incantations of two folk troubadours, often within the span of a single song. https://www.theharmedbrothers.com/  --- Upstate For Upstate, the last few years have been a time of profound exploration and self-discovery. As the band knocked off milestone after milestone on the road, their sound, their lineup, and even their name all underwent dramatic metamorphoses. Challenging and thrilling all at once, those changes have finally culminated in the sextet’s dazzling new album, a collection that showcases both their remarkable growth and their adventurous blend of folk, R&B, jazz, gospel, and rock and roll.Pulling from the greatest corners of american music, this group has the power to get feet moving with or without amplification. Like fresh-farmed vegetables, their music is as organic as it is good for you. From foot-stomping bass, highlighted by the slap of a cajon, to the familiar strums of the mandolin and guitar over a wailing saxophone – there’s so much going on instrumentally that when the harmonious lead vocalists chime in, the result is nothing short of a homegrown hurricane of sound. http://upstatelovesyou.com --- Avenhart Avenhart is a Denver-based indie folk band that combines powerful harmonies and honest lyrics with the warm and rich sound of a six-piece string band. Situated firmly on top are deep, rich lead vocals sung directly from the soul. Brought together by the music of Tony Rice and The Stanley Brothers, these six musicians set out to create original music that represents their own personal twist on folk and Americana. Using bluegrass instrumentation, they focus on intricate arrangements, warm harmonies, haunting melodies, heart-felt lyrics, and powerful vocals. https://www.avenhart.com
