Fundamental concepts to creating a landscape in paint.
October 16th to November 20th Wednesdays 6PM-8PM Ages 14+ $85 Instructor is Marian Pham In this class, we will focus on designing the landscape, using the 12 compositional stems by Edgar Payne in landscape painting. These fundamental concepts will apply to any medium you work in. We will spend the first three classes studying and painting thumbnails of these compositional stems in black and white gouache paint on Bristol paper. During the last last three classes, we will paint, in your chosen medium, one landscape painting to a finish. You will be choosing from a selection of photo references you will bring to class that has elements of the compositional stems we studied. If you are very new to landscape painting, or have been painting for some time but find yourself still struggling with design and composition, this class will benefit you.
