Dear Valued Members & Supporters,

My first couple of weeks in my new role here at the Kimball have been a whirlwind - but these weeks have been inspirational and quite fantastic. We wrapped up our Annual Gala last month, and I want to extend huge thanks to our staff, board, sponsors and guests that made the evening a success. Watching the 300+ guests get excited about and wholeheartedly support the mission of the Kimball made the Annual Gala an unforgettable experience for me.
Now we are moving full force ahead finalizing details for the 48th Annual Park City Kimball Arts Festival, happening August 4-6, 2017 on Historic Main Street. This year we are excited to have over 220 artists representing 12 categories, including 60 new artists who have never participated before! Our three stages will host 30 musical acts over the course of the weekend. You can see the full lineup, put together by Mountain Town Music, here. And finally, enjoy the exquisite food Park City has to offer through Dining Decks, the Food Truck Round-Up and Artisan Tastings.
I hope you will join us for three days of art, music and cuisine. The Kimball Arts Festival is our largest fundraiser and allows us the bring art to our community throughout the entire year. We will see you on Friday!
Happy Creating,
Lindsie Smith

EXHIBITIONS
Richard Serra: Prints
Main Gallery: June 10 August 20
Only three weeks left! Don't miss your chance to see incredible prints by renowned artist Richard Serra. The artist’s deliberate approach to more actively unite artwork, environment and the viewer's physical experience has in turn influenced his well-developed printmaking practice. Over the course of 45 years, from early lithographs to more recent experiments with nontraditional materials such as Paintstik, Serra's prints have become an immersive visual expression of weight, mass and tension.
Ink for Alaska
Café Gallery: June 1 - August 31
Portland, Oregon artists, Barbara Mason and Alex Prentiss, supporters of The Alaska Wilderness League, used their talents to help raise awareness and money for the League. Believing in the effort to preserve Alaska’s wild lands and waters, they creatively developed a project using their life experiences in printmaking and invited others to participate in a juried printmaking exhibit showcasing the Art of the Print, with work inspired by Alaska and the northern wilderness.
Upcoming: Jimmi Toro: Kindle A Light
Main Gallery: September 2 November 26
Jimmi Toro’s new multi-media exhibition is inspired by Carl Jung’s observation that, “As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being.” Toro is a Salt Lake City-based painter, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and music producer. In Kindle a Light, he brings together all of these creative pursuits to present an immersive experience for the viewer.
