Annual Meeting & Luncheon
Please join the board and staff of Utah Cultural Alliance at our Annual Meeting and Luncheon! This event is a wonderful opportunity to get together with other lovers of the arts & humanities. This year’s Lifetime Cultural Achievement Award is Nancy Heuston, founder of the Waterford School. She has made the humanities and arts a core part of the school’s curriculum, made it a point to hire artists and scholars, and introduced thousands of children to the arts and humanities.
Proceeds from this luncheon support our 501(c)3 programs to amplify Utah's humanities and arts, collect economic and other data indicating the benefits of culture, as well as boost the Cultural Asset Map.

About Nancy Heuston
Founder and former Head of the Waterford School, Nancy has had an unwavering commitment to the arts as an essential part of a child’s education. Nancy has employed some of Utah’s most accomplished artists allowing them the time and space to develop as both artists and teachers. She has presented in many national forums on the arts and education and has reached out to invite artists of the highest caliber to visit Utah and teach workshops at Waterford and often in collaboration with local arts organizations. She has built a truly impressive school from the ground up with the fine and performing arts at the center. Nancy’s focus has been to share all of this as far and wide as possible on Utah and beyond. Her commitment to the ideal of Honor Beauty and Wisdom through the arts has created a culture of accomplished artists and supporters of the arts. The impact of her contributions to the cultural life of Utah and beyond is just beginning to be understood. So much more could be said and so many others could attest to her great contributions and vision.
The Waterford School was founded in 1981 by Nancy and Dustin Heuston. The Waterford School was originally established as a research school, pairing the great lessons of a classical liberal arts education with the benefits of the latest computer technology, and proved successful: In 1986, the Heuston's moved Waterford from its rented campus in Provo, UT to a newly constructed campus in Sandy, UT, where you find it today. Nancy Heuston served as the founding Head from 1981-2015. Mrs. Heuston’s extraordinary vision and drive allowed the School to build out its beautiful campus, and to establish the vibrant educational culture that now exists.
